I Love...

that Flurpee, my 7-year-old daughter, asks me how to sound out groups of letters instead of asking me to read the whole word to her. Unfortunately she's at the level where the reason she's asking is because she's already tried the standard pronunciation and the word itself is irregular. But it's obvious that she expects most letter combinations to make specific sounds. Yippee!

Yay! A definite milestone to note. Aren't those fun? I try to do that in my blog, too, both so that I have a record for Ella and Madison, but also so that other parents' attention are drawn to these potential milestones. Thanks for doing it.

I lose my motivation when I think about what others might want to read too much. I like getting back to the simpler things!
